Combating global poverty

How climate and financing policies can help

The world’s rich nations will need to invest $100 bn every year if they are to help developing countries mitigate the effects of climate change and adapt to them. How can these investments best be directed so that they also reduce poverty? What instruments do European governments and the EU have to ensure that climate funds are used in a sustainable and equitable manner? Can public and private climate finance for poor countries as well as the proposed African Green Fund help developing countries leapfrog to a climate-resilient and resource efficient growth model?
