Business and Human Rights Seminar

Business and Human Rights Seminar: the implications for international project finance

The European Investment Bank is organising a convening on the issue of Business and Human Rights, which will be held in Johannesburg on 20 July 2010 in central Johannesburg. The EIB aims to explore the views of major stakeholder groups on the issue of Business and Human Rights. We will invite business and civil society organisations to present their advice on best practice and on the major due diligence implications for large-scale investment activities, as well as grievance mechanisms and dispute solutions related to human rights issues. For the EIB, which incorporates a Human Rights based approach to the social standards it applies to its investments activities, the meeting will be an excellent opportunity to listen and learn from business partners and other stakeholders.
