BIOFORUM 2009

The biotechnologies conference and exhibition Bioforum will be held on 30 September and 1 October in Milan, Italy.

CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service, is please to announce its participation at the 2009 edition of the Bioforum.The biotechnologies conference and exhibition Bioforum will be held on 30 September and 1 October in Milan, Italy. The two-day event will be composed of sessions, workshops and roundtables looking at key issues in a number of areas, including: - DNA databanks, ethics, privacy, security and technology; - human rights and biotechnology; - genetically modified organisms; - molecular markers for the study of pathogens; - molecular techniques for the formation of vegetable bioindicators; - preclinical and clinical development of standardised plant derivative proteins; - the role of biobanks in research institutions and personalised medicine; - opportunities in ultra-high field magnetic resonance imaging; - privacy concerns and the organisation of biobanks and correlated research; - start-ups and spin-offs in academic and business environments. On both days, an exhibition area will be at the disposal of Italian and foreign business operators and clusters who wish to present their achievements in terms of technological excellence and promote business meetings.
