Ms Leigh Dowsett

Leigh Dowsett has been working in Capacity Development for over 8 years.  She has a background in agriculture, and worked extensively in Europe and the UK on projects for over 10 years exploring innovative methods in sustainability.  She has conducted research on stakeholder involvement in management of National Parks and Protected Areas, with a focus on Upland area grazing management.  She has a First-class degree in Anthropology for which she won the Prince of Wales Award for the best Undergraduate Research Project, and a Master’s degree in Anthropology, Environment and Development, focusing on Environmental Development from a human perspective. Leigh has worked with IMA International since 2012 working on consultancies, and facilitating workshops and open courses, with a focus on Monitoring and Evaluation and Theory of Change.  She continues to volunteer with local environmental projects, and is a trustee of Swarm Dynamics, a UK based charity looking to match artistic talent with Key players in the scientific community in order to improve communications surrounding Climate Change and other Global Environmental Issues.  Swarm Dynamics is currently running ‘The HIVE’, a collaborative workshop partnering Brighton University, with the STEPS centre of the Institute of Development Studies.
