Professional experience
Juan Diego Ramírez-Cárdenas Díaz (ES) is a Senior Lecturer at EIPA’s Centre in Luxembourg, the European Centre for Judges and Lawyers. He studied law and international relations at the Universidad Complutense, Madrid. He continued his training at the College of Europe in Bruges where he was awarded an MA in European political and administrative studies. Currently, he is completing his PhD on law at the University Paris X.
Before joining EIPA, he worked for the College as a Teaching Assistant and for the Commission in a number of legal projects relating to the completion of the internal market. Since working at EIPA, Diego has been extensively involved in managing projects and delivering training and consultancy for officials from both national public administrations and EU Institutions and Agencies as well as the judiciary and other legal professionals in all candidate countries and most new Member States. As illustration, it can be cited that Diego has played a key role in the ongoing legal transition of Montenegro, helping in the legal transformation of the national institution responsible for judicial training. He regularly trains Member State officials on the procedures to dealing with the Commission in the framework of the Infringement procedure. He is also part of the EIPA Luxembourg team responsible for the provision of legal training to the General Secretariat of the Council, the Commission Legal Service
From 2002 to 2007, he also thought at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sc Po Paris) in the capacity of Senior Lecturer.
