The Lower Saxony State Institute for the Quality Development in Schools is subordinated Authority to the Ministry of Education.

It is responsible for the conception, implementation and realization of qualifying courses for both heads of schools as well as teachers following the Lower Saxony education policy.

Besides that it houses the Lower Saxony School Inspection as well as a central department for evaluation.
