The 12th African Cultures and Democratic Dialogue (12th ACDD) is an international conference taking place on 08–09 October 2026 in Bad Belzig and Potsdam, Germany, under the theme "Forced Migration, Integration & Democratic ;
Established in 2009, the African Cultures and Democratic Dialogue (ACDD) is a platform dedicated to bridging the dialogue gap across policymakers, knowledge institutions, communities and the younger generation. The conference creates opportunities for dialogue, partnership and practical cooperation between Germany and African countries.
The 12th ACDD will bring together representatives from governments, parliaments, African diplomatic missions, universities, municipalities, development organisations, businesses, migrant organisations, refugee initiatives, youth organisations and civil society from Germany and several African countries.
Participants will explore key issues including forced migration, democratic participation, climate change, sustainable development, youth engagement, social cohesion, international partnerships and community-based solutions. The programme combines keynote presentations, panel discussions, community dialogue, networking sessions and cultural exchange.
The conference is built on the belief that sustainable solutions emerge when those who shape policies, those who generate knowledge, those who implement solutions and those whose lives are directly affected come together as equal partners in dialogue.
The event is conducted in English and German and welcomes policymakers, researchers, students, development practitioners, civil society organisations, local authorities, businesses and everyone interested in strengthening dialogue and cooperation between Germany and Africa.
