The role of organised civil society in improving financial literacy: existing initiatives and public policies

The rapid progress of digitalisation continues to transform the financial sector and accelerate innovation in payments and monetary systems, including the development of central bank digital currencies.

In the context of the creation of a Savings and Investments Union that benefits EU citizens, financial literacy positions as an enabler. In this debate we will bring the voices of policymakers at EU level and organised civil society at local level to exchange on their projects and policy proposals.

The topics will include an updated overview on the implementation of the Strategy on financial literacy; the risks, opportunities and policy solutions concerning finfluencers and digital tools; and the initiatives and policy proposals from two organisations. The debate will also look for a tangible response to the key question ‘what do organisations need from policymakers for a greater impact’.

The event will be webstreamed (original, EN, FR) and open to all interested stakeholders. No registration is needed and participation is free of charge.
