Impacts of climate change on occupational health and safety in agriculture, as well as on employment, income and working conditions.

This SafeHabitus Policy Workshop focuses on synthesising the latest scientific evidence and practical insights on the impacts of climate change on occupational health and safety in agriculture, as well as on employment,income and working conditions. Climate change is increasingly affecting the health and livelihoods of agricultural workers, farmers and family labour across Europe, making it essential to strengthen knowledge exchange and policy dialogue in this area.

The workshop will bring together European policymakers, researchers and key stakeholders to facilitate debate and share perspectives on how to address the evolving challenges posed by climate change in the agricultural sector. By consolidating the latest evidence, the event aims to support the development of informed and effective policies that improve working conditions and safeguard the well-being of all those working in />Selected European and international examples will be presented, providing participants with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and explore practical approaches to improving occupational safety and health in the context of a changing />The seminar is structured around three main parts:
•    Research and evidence base: An overview of the latest research and data on the impacts of climate change on working conditions and occupational safety and health in ;
•    Good practices and practical responses: Presentation of selected European and international examples showcasing effective approaches to managing climate-related risks in agricultural ;
•    Policy dialogue at EU level: A round table discussion on existing mechanisms, emerging challenges, and potential policy tools to strengthen occupational safety and health in the agricultural />By consolidating the latest evidence and fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among a broad range of stakeholders, the workshop aims to identify innovative solutions to longstanding and emerging challenges. These discussions will contribute to shaping policies that improve working conditions, protect jobs and income, and ensure the health, safety and resilience of farmers and farm workers across Europe.
