The Transport Research Arena (TRA) brings together the people shaping the future of transport in Europe. As Europe’s flagship transport research and innovation conference, initiated by the European Commission together with key European stakeholders. Organised every two years, TRA connects researchers, industry leaders, policymakers and civil society from across the continent.

The 2026 edition of TRA will take place in Budapest and will showcase European and global know-how across all transport modes. With a strong focus on young researchers and next-generation solutions, the event will highlight practical ideas and innovations that respond to today’s transport challenges.

TRA offers a space to exchange ideas, share experiences and build partnerships. Through engaging sessions, open discussions and networking opportunities, participants can explore new solutions and help turn research into real-world impact.

CINEA will actively take part in TRA 2026 as part of the joint European Commission stand. A selection of EU-funded projects managed by the Agency will be showcased at the stand, with CINEA-supported projects and representatives also contributing to conference sessions and engaging with participants across other thematic stands.

More than 3,000 participants are expected to attend #TRA2026 in Hungary, making it a key moment to connect, collaborate and promote European transport research and innovation.
