Healthier, cleaner, and more vibrant cities – places where people want to live, work, and thrive- are important outcomes of local climate action.
Beyond reducing GHG emissions, decarbonising local transport and heating, would, for instance, lead to better air quality, improved physical health and an enhanced sense of well-being for inhabitants.
This raises important questions: How are cities in Czechia using climate action to become healthier and more vibrant places? What approaches are they using? And what actions are currently being undertaken at regional and national level to support local climate action? This workshop will showcase how cities in Czechia are using local climate action to become healthier and more sustainable communities.
For instance, thanks to strong political commitment and integrated climate planning, Kladno is implementing a Positive-Energy District.
Similarly, Liberec is pursuing climate neutrality by 2030 by focusing on partnerships and investment planning to meet this ambitious goal.
Whether your city is beginning its climate journey or is planning to refine its strategies, this workshop will offer valuable guidance, concrete examples, and connections to supportive national and EU initiatives.
