Urgent action is needed to create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments, ensuring that every learner can thrive, free from a series of events at the Conference, UNESCO and partners will highlight the power of education to end violence and showcase examples of action from countries around the world that are working to address the root causes of violence and to link children to the support services that they ;In addition to featuring in the main programme of the Conference, UNESCO will host a special satellite event with partners: the Safe to Learn Secretariat, UNICEF, the Coalition for Good Schools and the global working group to end school-related gender-based violence.
UNESCO is also organising a High-level regional meeting on the contribution of education to the prevention and addressing of violence in Latin America and the CaribbeanSpeakers will include Ministers of Education, civil society leaders, researchers, young activists, teachers as well as children and survivors of is committed to promoting safe and inclusive learning environments and reducing violence in schools.
Through these events, UNESCO aims to highlight the role of education in ending violence against children and stress the importance of collaborative action among governments, civil society, and international organizations to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn in a safe, nurturing ;UNESCO's participation in this Conference also marks the International Day Against Violence and Bullying at School, including Cyberbullying, observed on the first Thursday of each First Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children is hosted by the Government of Colombia with support from Sweden, the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence Against Children.
