Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe Partner Daniel S. Kim has been named as a guest speaker at an upcoming online ‘SAFE Note’ masterclass hosted by Ventures Thrive - an EU-funded pan-European venture builder for deeptech startups in the Widening Area - in collaboration with AcrossLimits, SynergistEIC, and X2.0.
‘Understanding the SAFE Note’ will seek to explain the importance and essence of this contract / agreement to founders and entrepreneurs working within the deeptech sphere. Some of the key questions set to be answered at the masterclass include “how is a SAFE different from other fundraising mechanisms?” and “why is it preferred (or not) and under what circumstances?”.
Apart from being a leading international law firm, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe is also credited with designing the original SAFE Note for Y-Combinator. Attendees can thus expect to leave the masterclass with a strong understanding of this tool and further clarification of how and when it can be applied to their own journeys.
Daniel is a founding member of Orrick's Santa Monica Office and a partner in Orrick’s Technology Companies Group where he advises disruptive technology companies at all stages of their life cycles.
Daniel also has a general business and corporate law practice, representing both emerging and public companies in a variety of matters, including corporate and securities law, venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, de-SPAC transactions, day-to-day general corporate matters, structured liquidity programs, public offerings, Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and compliance and corporate governance.
‘Understanding the SAFE Note’ will be taking place online, via Zoom, on Tuesday 10th September from 17:00 to 19:00 CET. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
Attendees can join the webinar via this Zoom link.
