In the final months of the mandate of the last European Commission, the European economy faced worsening economic conditions, particularly in Germany and France.
This economic downturn spurred a series of calls for reforms to safeguard wealth and regain competitiveness.
Notably, European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME’s Manifesto for a Realistic Industry Policy in June 2023, Europe Unlocked’s call for competitiveness in January 2024, and the Antwerp Declaration by major industries in February 2024 all highlighted the urgent need for a more business-friendly environment, a stronger Single Market, reduced bureaucratic burdens, more free trade agreements, and lower energy
European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME plans to propose an “Economy of ; This approach emphasizes trust among EU and national lawmakers, EU member states, and European institutions, as well as SME and Mid-Caps’ trust in Europe’s Key components include trusting technological innovations, reducing control and regulatory burdens, and fostering inter-European trust and cooperation.
The goal is to shift Europe from being regulation-heavy to becoming a champion of economic and individual freedom, thereby securing wealth and resources for welfare and enabling a green transition.
The SME2B Business Forum Europe 2024, “Building a European Economy of Trust,” organised by European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME, will be held on 3 September 2024 in Brussels.
It intends to spell out what more trust means, how it can be achieved, and, in particular, what company owners expect from the new Commission and Parliament in the next five years.
