The event will discuss and further develop the recommendations issued in the report “Energy Transition and the Future of Energy Research, Innovation and Education: An Action Agenda for European Universities”, a strategic document providing suggestions for universities and policymakers for the update of energy education and research programmes.
With this Energy Clustering Event, the European University Association (EUA) through its European Platform for Universities in Energy Research & Education (EUA-EPUE), in collaboration with the University of Lorraine and InnoEnergy, seeks to strengthen the dialogue on the current and future role of universities in the triangle of Europe’s energy research and higher education policy.
The event will take place from 21 to 22 March 2018 and will be hosted by the University of Lorraine (Nancy, France).
It is aimed at university leadership, energy professionals and policy makers active in higher education and research in the field of energy and will offer an opportunity for open exchange and idea generation on the topic of one of Europe’s most pressing Societal Challenges.
The workshop will discuss and further develop the recommendations issued in the report “Energy Transition and the Future of Energy Research, Innovation and Education: An Action Agenda for European Universities”, a strategic document providing suggestions for universities and policymakers for the update of energy education and research programmes prepared by the UNI-SET project.
It lists recommendations on how to integrate newest and innovative learning and teaching methods into energy-related courses and programmes.
Practitioners and programme managers can also consult a selection of possible course topics and learning outcomes on technical, social, economic and political issues related to sustainable energy.
Following the 2016 Roadmap for European Universities in Energy, the conference finally seeks to strengthen the work of EUA-EPUE.
Part of the workshop will be dedicated to discuss how EUA-EPUE can enhance its support for universities at European level and its involvement in the Energy Union and the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan).
